The Munk Group, based in Günzburg and Leipheim, is one of the most family-friendly employers in the German SME sector. In an online award ceremony, the company now received the certificate for the "Work and Family" audit for the first time from Federal Minister for Family Affairs Lisa Paus as patron. The Munk Group was thus honoured for its particularly family- and life-phase-conscious personnel policy and is the first company ever in the Günzburg district to receive the corresponding certificate. In order to further expand this high standard in the future, the Munk Group uses a management tool offered by berufundfamilie Service GmbH.
"I am very pleased about the certification, because it makes us even more attractive as a family-friendly employer. We live the compatibility of work and family every day, it is, so to speak, an integral part of our DNA. It's great that this is recognised in this way and that we are also seen as a pioneer in the region when it comes to family friendliness," explains Ferdinand Munk, founder and managing director of the Munk Group.
In the past, the Munk Group had already repeatedly drawn attention to itself with family-friendly offers. For years, it has offered, among other things, childcare during the summer holidays, as well as further education and training opportunities that can also be used by family members of employees.
"We are currently working hard on optimising our family-friendly management concept, because the compatibility of family and work must be seen more than ever as a management task and implemented at all management levels. This is just as important as, for example, the further digitalisation of the workplaces and a high degree of flexibility in the organisation of working hours," says Munk.
The certificate for the "Work and Family" audit, which is considered a seal of quality for a company compatibility policy, is awarded by the board of trustees of berufundfamilie Service GmbH. A prerequisite for certification was that the Munk Group successfully completed the associated auditing process, in which the status quo of the family- and life-phase-conscious measures already offered was determined and the company-specific potential was systematically developed.
Many individual measures are implemented
Within the scope of the audit, not only strategic goals were defined, but also more than 20 concrete measures, which are recorded in a target agreement. For example, the project group "Compatibility" ensures that all projects in the company are constantly adapted to the needs of the employees. In addition, the Munk Group offers further training in the area of stress management, which is directly adapted to the needs of the employees.
The measures mentioned in the target agreement must now be implemented according to need during the three-year certificate period. The practical implementation will be reviewed annually by berufundfamilie Service GmbH.
