Market innovation: Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik offers the first rope extension ladder with steps

13/05/2022

Press release

A fine move for the TRBS-compliant product range of stepladders: Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik is the first supplier ever to have a step rope extension ladder in its range. This can be extended from a length of 3.62 metres to 6.42 metres with a single movement. A few pulls are enough - and the market innovation is ready for use in record time. It is the first rope-operated ladder with steps on the market. With matching accessories such as handrails on the upper and lower ladder, exit rail and R13 slip resistance, the Munk Group's new product meets the requirements for the occupational safety premium programme of the BG BAU trade association. All information on the new stepladder is available in the application video at https://is.gd/stufenseilzugleiter.

"As rung ladders, rope-operated ladders are very popular, especially in the trades. It was all the more important for us to be the first manufacturer to offer a rope-operated ladder that meets all requirements and standards. We had the more stringent technical rules for operational safety - especially TRBS 2121 Part 2 - in mind. So it was only logical to develop a stepped version of the rope-operated ladder," says Ferdinand Munk, Managing Director and owner of the Munk Group based in Günzburg.

Also with R13 slip prevention

The new step rope extension ladder with utility model protection from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik is available in two versions: the standard version and the version with the clip-step R13 anti-slip tread. This fulfils the strict requirements of the highest evaluation group for slip resistance R13 and ensures a particularly safe step and comfortable booth, especially in wet, oil-smeared and dusty work areas.

Compared to rung rope extension ladders, the new step rope extension ladder offers users the advantage that - in accordance with the updated TRBS specifications - they can also carry out longer lasting work on each step without additional accessories, making the ladder a versatile piece of work equipment. In the overlap area of the ladder sections, the extra-deep footing of 185 mm ensures a particularly safe step and booth.

For safe passage

Top feature for even more flexibility: so that tradesmen can also use the stepladder to move to a roof or another storey, for example, in compliance with regulations, Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik has developed the construction so that the top end of the ladder is designed without cross bracing.

Another comfort and safety feature of the new step rope extension ladder: the plastic rope has been specially attached to the side so that it does not interfere when climbing the steps and does not pose a tripping hazard. The pulley principle also halves the required cable pulling forces and ensures efficiency with its ergonomic handling. The upper ladder is equipped with wall rollers, as is usual with rope extension ladders. This makes it particularly easy to extend upwards and does not cause any damage to the wall or facade surfaces when it is pulled up. Its self-locking double drop-in hooks further secure the steps so that the user can always rely on optimal working safety.

With high-quality fittings made of galvanised steel and fourfold flanged steps, the new product from Günzburg offers the usual first-class industrial quality. With the DIN EN 131-2-compliant step rope extension ladder, users can also rely on all the safety features that are standard at Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik, such as the nivello stabiliser, which is equipped with the new generation of the nivello ladder shoe as standard. Thanks to its patented 2-axis tilt technology in the joint, the nivello ensures optimum ground support and is equipped with exchangeable foot plates. For added ergonomics, the 'roll-bar' retrofit kit can also be mounted on the crosspiece of the step rope extension ladder. According to the motto "rolling instead of dragging", this provides a decisive ergonomic advantage during transport.
