Efficient production and maintenance of buses

Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik presents innovative access technology systems for the bus industry at Bus2Bus 2024 in Berlin

26/02/2024

Press release

Minimised downtimes and maximum efficiency thanks to innovative access technology: Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik will be demonstrating at Bus2Bus in Berlin (24 and 25 April) how buses can be returned to regular service and travel as quickly as possible after maintenance. The quality manufacturer from Bavaria will be presenting efficient and safe access technology for the production, maintenance and servicing of commercial vehicles at its stand (Hall 27, Stand 310)

With the solutions from Günzburg, processes can be optimised and downtimes significantly reduced. And regardless of whether they are public operators or private bus companies: thanks to the innovative ideas from the quality manufacturer, they are ideally positioned for the future, as the latest generation of buses with electric or hybrid drives can also be serviced particularly efficiently with access technology solutions from Günzburg.

For this maintenance requirement, Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik offers, among other things, rooftop work systems that help technicians to optimally reach the modules and components installed on the roof. "Our rooftop work systems are available in different versions and designs: these range from the customised, fully automatic version, which can be adjusted and moved to the exact height down to the millimetre, to permanently installed systems with fixed working heights. This means that bus companies with a lower investment volume can also purchase a particularly economical and safe maintenance system," says Ferdinand Munk, owner and Managing Director of the Munk Group.

Also suitable for assembly work

The rooftop work systems from the quality manufacturer are not only suitable for maintenance, but can also be used as assembly lines in the production of buses. At a leading bus manufacturer, all rooftop work steps in production are carried out on electrically adjustable and automated rooftop work systems from Günzburg.

Electrically adjustable work platforms from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik are also available wireless on request. They then enable comfortable working, completely independent of the nearest power socket. A high-performance battery pack ensures full working power with the greatest possible flexibility, while safety is guaranteed by features such as environment monitoring with a laser scanner and camera system with colour monitors. Acoustic and visual signals further increase work safety during operation.

Standardised basic or special solutions

Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik offers standardised basic solutions for buses and commercial vehicles as well as customised special solutions. With its rooftop work systems, electrically adjustable maintenance platforms, walkway systems, stair platforms, bridging platforms and bridging systems, the quality manufacturer from Bavaria not only increases efficiency in workshops, but also improves work safety for maintenance personnel.

Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik offers special roof work stands, work platforms and walkway systems for all work on the vehicle roof. However, the access technology products from the quality manufacturer's standard range of over 2,500 items also help with many other jobs on buses. The certified R13 step pad for stepladders from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik's standard range, for example, offers added safety at work. The anti-slip surface guarantees safe standing, especially in work areas where there is a risk of slipping.

The FlexxTower single-person scaffolding from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik is a real all-rounder. It can be assembled and dismantled by just one person without tools, but also offers enough space for two people on its working platform up to a working height of over six metres.

Visitors can even try out another highlight at Bus2Bus for themselves: with the FlexxLift mini elevating work platform, they can quickly and safely crank themselves up to working heights of up to 4.20 metres at the Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik stand. The FlexxLift is driven smoothly without electricity via a sophisticated crank mechanism and can be used by individuals on a mobile basis, regardless of location.

Safety and functionality are key

When developing all access technology solutions, Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik emphasises the highest quality, functionality and safety. It is the first manufacturer in Germany to be awarded the certified "Made in Germany" certificate of origin by TÜV Nord. The company's series products come with a 15-year guarantee.
