Fitters, tradesmen, caretakers and service technicians are familiar with this dilemma: they need different access aids for different working heights every day. But the service vehicle is full and there is simply no more room to take another ladder with you. Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik is now putting an end to this dilemma. The quality manufacturer from Bavaria has developed a new modular access equipment concept and expanded its series range to include modularly expandable products, such as plug-in stepladders and platform ladders, the ML folding step or the one-person scaffolding from the FlexxTower series.
All modularly extendable products can be assembled, dismantled and converted completely without tools using plug-in connections. This means that users can easily adapt their access equipment to a wide range of working heights - with full occupational safety. The dismountable components save space in storage and also ensure easy handling and ergonomic transport thanks to their low individual weight. This is because they can be easily stowed even in small vehicles and do not even require a roof rack for bulky, large-format ladders. The modular access equipment can be set up on site in just a few simple steps and is ready for immediate use.
"Our modular work safety solutions are therefore perfect for professional users such as fitters, tradespeople and caretakers. They need to be very mobile and flexible because they work in a wide variety of buildings and at different heights every day. Instead of having to keep several ladders on hand at random, these users can extend their access aid with modular components directly on site if required - in just a few simple steps and without tools. Our new modular technology minimises the risk of accidents at work enormously, because nobody has to improvise if they discover that the access aid was too low. Now a ladder module or scaffolding level is simply placed on top," says Ferdinand Munk, owner and Managing Director of the Munk Group.
Modular stepladder
A top new product from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik, the double-sided, plug-in stepladder, provides flexible and safe access to the top: the standard version has four accessible, 80 mm deep steps on both sides and enables working heights of up to 2.45 metres. For working at greater heights, the ladder can be extended by three additional steps with an optional plug-in section, allowing users to reach working heights of up to 3.15 metres.
The new product is particularly space-saving in the warehouse and during transport: the ladder has an overall height of 0.91 metres and a lower external width of 0.46 metres, the insertion section is 1.17 metres high and 0.47 metres wide at the lower end.
Safe standing at up to five platform heights
The plug-in platform ladder from Günzburg is also particularly versatile: with four different extensions, it can be extended by two to five steps as required. This increases the platform height of the ladder from 0.69 metres to up to 1.85 metres and the working height from 2.7 metres to a maximum of 3.9 metres.
"Painters, fitters and facility managers often have to work standing up for long periods of time. This is particularly safe with a ladder with an integrated platform. Because the working height here depends directly on the height of the work platform, we have developed four plug-in extensions of different heights for our plug-in platform ladder: this allows users to adjust the platform height of their ladder perfectly to any work site. In a matter of seconds," says Ferdinand Munk.
FlexxTower: quick and safe one-person scaffolding
Users benefit from the single-person scaffolding from the FlexxTower range when working at even greater heights, for example when installing ceilings, on façades or industrial plants: the mobile scaffolding can be assembled and dismantled by just one person without tools and enables working heights of up to 9.55 metres - for example with the SGX variant. For lower workplaces, the FlexxTower can also be flexibly assembled at lower heights. The handy and lightweight individual aluminium components can be easily moved from level to level during assembly using the extendable suspension brackets integrated into the platform. Quick-release fasteners and scaffolding claws enable the components to be connected quickly and securely without tools.
When the scaffolding becomes a transport trolley
In practice, the scaffolding is also characterised by its low weight and compact dimensions, which also make handling in the warehouse, during transport and on the construction site much easier. A few individual parts can be used to build a transport trolley without tools, in which the remaining scaffolding parts or other materials can be transported quickly and, above all, ergonomically. The FlexxTower not only fits through all standard doors, but can also be transported in many commercial vehicles.
Stable and robust: Modular folding steps
The new ML folding steps from Munk Günzburger Steigtechnik are also space-saving and offer maximum flexibility: the folding steps, which can be accessed from both sides, have a 310 x 385 mm wooden screen-printed platform on the top level to ensure a secure footing.
Practical: Two ML folding steps can be connected to each other with a 160 cm long hook-on platform. The platform's non-slip screen printing plate can be flexibly attached at any step height, including the top level, creating a spacious, stable work surface (load capacity up to 300 kg). This means that two people can stand and work safely on it at the same time.
