Improve occupational safety

SVLFG funded

The SVLFG (Social Insurance for Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture) subsidises investments by its members in occupational health and safety. Funding campaigns are regularly organised under the heading of ‘prevention promotion’. The SVLFG explains on its website what is subsidised and how much the investment grant is for each measure. In some funding periods, access equipment products from MUNK Günzburger Steigtechnik are also eligible for funding. The motto is then: ‘Prevent falls and fall accidents and use platform ladders!’ No access equipment products are currently subsidised by the SVLFG.

What is the SVLFG?

The SVLFG is the social insurance organisation for agriculture, forestry and horticulture. As a so-called ‘Verbundträger’, it combines agricultural accident insurance, old-age insurance for farmers, agricultural health insurance and agricultural long-term care insurance under one roof. The organisation and work of the SVLFG is governed by statutes based on the laws applicable to these branches of insurance. The SVLFG is a federal corporation under public law with its headquarters in Kassel.

Who is the SVLFG responsible for?

Agricultural accident insurance (agricultural occupational accident insurance) is a sub-sector of the Social Insurance for Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture (SVLFG) and is a compulsory insurance scheme to which entrepreneurs in agriculture, forestry and horticulture belong by law.

The insured companies include

  • Companies in agriculture and forestry including horticulture and viticulture, fish farming, pond farming, lake, stream and river fishing (inland fishing), beekeeping and landscape conservation serving the aims of nature conservation and environmental protection,
  • Enterprises in which livestock or breeding animals are kept for the purpose of rearing, fattening or producing animal products without land management,
  • agricultural and forestry contractors,
  • Park and garden maintenance companies and cemeteries,
  • hunts, both owned and leased,
  • chambers of agriculture and professional agricultural organisations,
  • Companies that directly serve to safeguard, monitor or promote agriculture (e.g. breeding associations),
  • the Social Insurance for Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture, its other institutions as well as the supplementary pension fund and the supplementary pension scheme for employees in agriculture and forestry.

Prevention programmes

As an employers' liability insurance association for agricultural businesses, the SVLFG is strongly committed to prevention, occupational safety and health. In addition to seminars and courses, this also includes various support programmes to improve occupational safety in companies. Companies that are insured with the agricultural employers' liability insurance association and fulfil other requirements are eligible for subsidies. One subsidy per company is possible per programme.
The application forms for investment subsidies are always available for download on the SVLFG website on specific dates, as the insurance company's prevention subsidies are always awarded as part of so-called subsidy programmes. These are time-limited. The content and conditions of the subsidies are published on a separate website.
