Client's Request and Task

Our mission was to develop a specialised work platform that meets the high standards of our client for maintenance work over electroplating baths. Our clients required a work gondola that not only enhances the safety and ergonomics for their employees during maintenance tasks but is also quick and straightforward to assemble and perfectly aligned with the existing structures.

Our Solution

Work Platform Concept
Our concept includes a suspended work platform, precisely designed for the needs over an electroplating bath. It can be quickly and securely attached to existing HEB beams and meets all required criteria in terms of ergonomics and safety.

Adjustable Height and Safe Working
The platform can be locked at two fixed heights, covering different work requirements and enabling an ergonomic working position. The platform is equipped with a hook-on ladder and an inward-opening safety door (SI door) to secure and simplify access.

Assembly and Safety Features
The assembly of the work platform is straightforward and can be accomplished in a very short time, without the need for a forklift. Additionally, spring clips and a lever mechanism during hooking and unhooking provide extra safety. A brake with a push rod tensioner and rubber buffers ensures that the platform is firmly and safely positioned.

Flexibility and Protection
The platform consists of two parts that can be pulled apart for work over the bath. A hook-on railing, adjustable for both platform heights, offers additional protection. The gondola and all metal parts are specially coated due to the vapours from the electroplating bath, preventing corrosion.

Technical Details and Ergonomics
With a platform length of approximately 1400 mm and a width of 1000 mm, the platform provides ample space for maintenance tasks. The aluminium tread plate coverings contribute to safety and an ergonomic standing position. The maximum surface load of 1.5 kN/m² and a total load of 200 kg with a self-weight of 90 kg underline the robustness of the construction.
