Client's Request and Task
Our client required a specialized work platform for the maintenance and servicing of armored tracked and wheeled vehicles. The focus was on the need to securely and ergonomically place the turret of an armored vehicle along with its weapon on a steel frame in the center of the platform for adjustment works. The challenge lay in the spatially confined conditions and the demand for a flexible, safe, and standard-compliant solution for the surrounding work on the weapon system.

Our Solution
Rigid and Mobile Work Platform Concept
The development of a rigid catwalk system with an attached, mobile work platform, which can be coupled when needed, offers the required flexibility. Accessibility is ensured through a staircase-like entrance with a non-slip aluminum covering and a functional catwalk construction made of stable individual modules.
Technical Execution and Adaptation
The work platform features electrically lowerable railings, operated by linear motors, to easily position the tank turret. An innovative system of connectors allows for quick connection of the platform segments. To ensure the highest level of safety, the platform was designed without struts underneath and with protective perforated sheets on the railings.
Operation and Safety Systems
The control box, positioned at the staircase entrance, is equipped with all necessary control and safety elements, including emergency stop and a fault indicator for maximum operational safety. Additional security is provided by a safety remote control with a handheld transmitter for emergency stop and a wireless safety receiver module.
Specifications and Load Capacity
The catwalk and platform were designed for a surface load of 150 kg/m² and a total load of 500 kg, meeting the customer's requirements for stability and reliability. The overall dimensions allow for good maneuverability within the maintenance hall despite the size.
